Electrosurgical device tester

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Rigel Medical’s Uni-Therm tests all leading electrosurgical devices, providing accurate results as it quickly and automatically guides the user through test procedures. A key feature is the automated activation of the ESU pedal or hand switch from coag to cut, without the need to manually change resistors to simulate different tissue types, while contact quality monitoring (CQM) analysis, high current power measurement and HF leakage are also beneficial. A high power load bank enables performance testing up to 8A RMS to allow testing and calibration of high current vessel sealing technologies and with a duty cycle of up to 100%, making the analyser an extremely versatile test instrument for calibrating and performance testing of conventional and high power electrosurgical generators. Built-in memory, test automation, comprehensive data management facilities and a wide range of in-built low inductance resistors, large full colour screen display providing step-by-step instructions to ensure the correct connection to the device under test complete this outstanding all-in-one tester.

Adult and pediatric breathing systems

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Following the Compact extendable breathing systems for adults, a new pediatric range has been launched with features that offer some distinct advantages. Concertinaed supply increases the number of systems per box, for more cost effective storage and disposal. A standard box of Compact systems could provide a hospital with an extra three weeks supply. Adjustable length means the tubing can be extended/collapsed to suit exact needs. The shallow profile tube improves laminar gas flow with lower resistance to flow. Softer material results in a quiet, non-disruptive sound when expanded and collapsed while flexibility allows for easy tube positioning, without the need for additional connections, which suits head and neck surgery. Compliance is excellent when extended, at 0.28ml/mbar per metre of tube, less than that required in the ISO 5367:2000 standard. The Paediatric Compact breathing system is available in three lengths: 1.5m, 2.0m, and 3.0m (extended length). A one-litre reservoir bag with limb options are also available.

DICOM software for thyroid uptake system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The new optional DICOM Software program incorporates the Atomlab 960 Thyroid Uptake System with hospital management systems, streamlining workflows and improving communication. The DICOM Software program retrieves patient information from the work list and uploads the patient results, without exiting out of the clinical software, increasing staff productivity and efficiency. DICOM allows the thyroid uptake reports to be transferred, stored and queried/retrieved throughout a facility. Physicians can view both images and uptake reports simultaneously. The Atomlab 960, introduced in March 2013, is an advanced spectrum analysis instrument designed for diverse nuclear medicine applications which boasts a count rate of 150,000 cps and is engineered for mobility, durability and operational efficiency. The combination of a new unique positioning LED and distance measurement rod allows for easy and reproducible patient positioning and uptake measurements during nuclear imaging. Thyroid uptake studies, manual MCA program, wipe tests, bioassay, and other user-defined tasks are accomplished with speed and precision using this fully integrated computer-controlled instrument and its comprehensive selection of application software. The system’s multi-channel analyser has 1024 channels, with individual MCA’s for the probe and optional well counter. The Atomlab 960 handles clinical tests, safety compliance tasks, and system administration procedures quickly and accurately. It automatically performs calculations, stores patient information and test results, and outputs clear concise reports. User-defined uptake protocols can be initiated. Automated systems and administrative functions streamline and simplify the QC process to allow for optimal efficiency. Intuitive programs and Quality Assurance applications follow conventional nuclear medicine procedures, yet can be customized to meet specific requirements.

Transcutaneous respiratory monitoring

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

For serial testing, non-invasive transcutaneous monitoring (TCM) is definitely a preferred route. TCM is ideal for sleep studies, allowing any nocturnal variation to be observed and helping to determine whether the patient requires continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or assisted ventilation, as well as enabling progress during treatment to be monitored. It is also beneficial for cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). The TOSCA monitor is very intuitive and easy to use, from fitting new membranes to storing the electrodes. Calibration is quickly and consistently performed.  For patients, TOSCA is preferable to arterial blood sampling as it is completely painless.

Intensive care ventilator

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The Evita V300 is a customized intensive care ventilator that can meet the wide spectrum of clinical therapy requirements. Depending on what is required, the team of physicians can supplement it with ventilation modes, applications or screen displays. For example, SmartCare/ PS provides an option for weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. The device automatically leads the patient back to completely independent breathing and can shorten the total duration of ventilation considerably. Transportation of intensive care patients between clinic departments continues to increase. For this reason, seamless intensive ventilation has gained significance because changing devices can lead to complications. The Evita V300 is equipped to be installed in a supply unit, mounted on a cart next to a patient’s bed or to be taken along when transporting the patient in the clinic.
