Radiation survey sensor

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The RaySafe X2 Survey sensor offers an easy and fast solution for precise survey measurements in the X-ray energy range. It is the latest addition to the continually expanding RaySafe X2 X-ray measurement system, and adds the ability to perform leakage and scatter measurements in diagnostic X-ray applications. Its simple design is coupled with unprecedented accuracy and sensitivity. Unlike a pressurized ion-chamber, the RaySafe X2 Survey sensor is silicon- based, making it possible to ship without any special considerations or arrangements. The Survey sensor also has two trigger modes: manual and automatic. These modes allow the sensor to capture low dose-rate measurements in an X-ray machine’s primary beam. Another unique feature is its ability to switch energy response between Air Kerma (Gy or R) and Ambient Dose Equivalent (Sv). The RaySafe X2 sensors are specifically designed to minimize the need for user interaction. Other sensors in the RaySafe X2 Measurement System include R/F, MAM, CT and Light.

Lightweight cassette-type digital radiography detector

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The recently launched AeroDR PREMIUM wireless cassette-type DR detector is 14 x 17 inches and weighs just 2.6kg, which is approximately 10% lighter than the conventional AeroDR 1417HQ series. In addition to X-ray rooms, the detectors are also being used in operating rooms, emergency care sites, and disaster areas. To meet the requirements related to these locations, the product’s resistance to load and drop impact has been improved and robustness has been enhanced by a waterproof design. Furthermore, the cycle time between exposures has been drastically reduced to approximately half of the time required by the conventional AeroDR 1417HQ series. This reduces the time required to carry out the exposure process and thus, reduces the burden on patients. Consequently, the reduced exposure process time reduces the time during which orthopedic patients have to wait for several exposures on the same body part while holding a posture that may cause pain, or the time during which groups of radiography examinees have to wait before they are diagnosed. In addition, by increasing the capacity of the built-in lithium-ion capacitor and enhancing the power-saving function, the battery life has been increased to allow users to take approximately 1.5 times more images than with a conventional AeroDR 14

Ultrasound probe test system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The new dynamic ultrasound probe test system, ProbeHunter, with new features like validation of image, colour and doppler gives clinicians, biomedical engineers at hospitals and the ultrasound industry a new tool for quality assurance and patient safety. With 256 channels, ProbeHunter tests in real time and is ultra fast. Studies in Scandinavia have confirmed that 35-40% of the ultrasound transducers at a non-tested hospital show defects when tested, even after OEM service, maintenance and systems’own test protocols. The ultrasound probe is the most delicate part of an ultrasound system and is extremely sensitive to shocks, dropping and type of gel or cleanser used. The risk of a fallacious diagnosis is high because the problem is not directly identifiable without a tester. With a next generation test system such as ProbeHunter, it is possible to bring the faulty frequency down to 10% if a hospital frequently tests its ultrasound probes. ProbeHunter is a dynamic test system that validates the performance in real time of ultrasound probes of all brands i.e. Siemens, GE, Philips, Toshiba etc. It is designed for every biomedical department at hospitals as well as for the ultrasound industry. The probe testing device contributes to patient safety by making sure that every ultrasound probe in use is fully functional.

Enhanced digital mobile X-ray system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The MobileDaRt Evolution, EFX version digital mobile X-ray system can be moved to any location where radiography is required. It is equipped with a wireless flat panel detector (FPD) and broadens its applications from clinical rounds in hospitals to critical care and applications at disaster sites, as well as operating rooms and neonatal intensive care units. New features improve safety, processing speed, and save energy. Instead of a traditional hard disk drive, the new vibration resistant DR unit uses a high speed vibration resistant solid-state drive (SSD), thereby reducing the risk of data loss. In addition, the conventional system startup time has been reduced to +/- 1 min, allowing rapid radiography in an emergency. The new energy saving collimator with bright irradiation field uses LEDs as the light source to indicate the irradiation field, increasing the brightness and contributing to improved operability for the technologist. This reduces power consumption to approximately one half of conventional levels while ensuring a long operating life, reducing periodic maintenance requirements. The LCD monitor has a wide viewing angle, displaying high quality images that can be viewed from a wide range of positions around the unit. The addition of a new FPD increases the speed of internal processing, shortening the preview image display time to 2 secs, contributing to improved procedural efficiency. The 17 x 17′ FPD (CXDI-401 Wireless) design provides an IPX4 level of splash protection, so the unit is resistant to liquid penetration, making it suitable for operating rooms and emergency rooms.

Mobile angiography system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The Discovery IGS 740 is specifically designed to improve clinical efficiency in the operating room, whilst also offering high quality imaging. The fact that it is free standing rather than tethered to the floor or ceiling means that it avoids unnecessary restrictions on a physician’s mobility in the theatre. This means the patient can be imaged at any point during a procedure, so operating theatres can be used for a wider range of procedures than would have been previously possible with fixed imaging systems. Its wide bore C-Arm and dedicated arm-imaging positions help clinicians to easily image the anatomy of interest, and offer full patient access from the left or right.

Clinical data platform

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Carestream’s new Clinical Collaboration Platform allows providers to identify and share diverse patient clinical data to help clinicians make diagnostic and treatment decisions. This data can also be shared with patients during consultations. One of the biggest challenges facing healthcare IT today is the vast amount of data that exists in siloed systems that limit accessibility. This type of infrastructure increases costs and makes it difficult to access clinical data, which impedes the quality of diagnostic services. Consolidating storage devices with a vendor-neutral archive is a good foundation, but the challenge is to deliver better access and management of unstructured data so that a comprehensive view of patient data can be maintained and distributed to authorized users. Carestream’s Clinical Collaboration Platform can be integrated as modules within a provider’s existing IT ecosystem. Using the latest interoperability standards allows data to be aggregated, which creates a holistic view of the patient. This can also mitigate the need for expensive data migration from older systems by federating multiple devices. A vendor-neutral archive (VNA) links radiology, endoscopy, pathology, cardiology, lab results and other forms of data. Carestream’s flexible Clinical Collaboration Platform can complement a provider’s existing departmental PACS or archive and offers a series of optional modules that can bring unstructured data into the clinical work-flow and enhance the delivery of patient images and reports to clinicians
