Cervical biopsy punch with Rotation

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The Cervical Biopsy Punch with Rotation has been designed to remove the risks of crosscontamination which can occur when reusing hard-to-clean instruments on patients undergoing cervical cancer biopsies. The nylon-based trigger handle and the metal jaw were developed using the most advanced materials, techniques and expertise available. The shaft and inner rod – made from stainless steel – actuate the jaw ensuring no movement or flex occurs, enabling a sharp and clean cut. With the sheer volume of cervical biopsies taken every year (over 1.5 million in Europe), this device could have huge potential.

High quality diagnostic displays

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

With their high-luminance and high-contrast capabilities Sony’s first ever range of high quality diagnostic diplays offer clear images for medical imaging applications such as MRI, X-ray and digital mammography. The LMD-DM50 and LMD-DM30 will feature the Independent Sub-pixel Drive (ISD) technology that is capable of producing three times the resolution of monochrome LCDs. Available in both the 5MP and 3MP greyscale models, ISD creates reliable image quality for viewing high resolution diagnostic studies including CR and DR images, CT, MR and particularly full field digital mammography (FFDM) where detailed viewing of micro-calcifications is possible. The LMD-DM50 and LMD-DM30 can be used in digital mammography PACS, and modalities including FFDM. The LMD-DM30C, LMD-DM20C and LMD-DM20 can be used in displaying and viewing medical images such as MRI and CT but are not designed for digital mammography.

Intensive care ventilator for MRI patients

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The HAMILTON-MR1 is a fully featured ICU ventilator that provides respiratory support to the adult and paediatric critical-care patient in the direct vicinity of an MRI scanner. With its compact design, internal batteries and its built-in turbine, it provides maximum flexibility during transportation from the ICU to the MRI department. The integrated gaussmeter helps navigation through the magnetic field and allows safe positioning of the ventilator. It is shielded to withstand a magnetic field of 50mT, which corresponds to a distance of less than 1m from a 3T MRI scanner. The patient can be optimally synchronised with the ventilator, which minimises the work of breathing. The ventilator supplies all advanced modes of ventilation and offers non-invasive performance.

Complete automated X-ray platform

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The DX-D 800 is a complete digital X-ray platform fitted with a dynamic, portable and removable flat-panel detector. This remote-controlled, multi-purpose system allows a very broad range of fluoroscopy and radiology exams, as well as direct exposures. Fluoroscopy applications include gastrointestinal examinations, urogenital, angiography and interventional radiology. Radiography applications include skull, thorax, abdomen, spine and pelvis, as well as full leg/full spine with automatic image stitching. The mobility of the platform also makes it ideal for paediatric, extremity and lateral images, as well as for use with patients with reduced mobility. A remote controlled table as well as a video camera for positioning the patient without irradiation are provided. Both play an important part in ensuring a quick and easy procedure for the patient. The system also has pre-determined automatic collimation and filters for each protocol, which allow a potential dose reduction while optimising image quality.

Platform for EMR, ZIS & PACS-2 integration

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The realisation of achieving a centralised ICT standard in care remains a hot topic. In the ideal situation all standards-based medical systems can be unlocked. In practice this is not always possible. A platform, the DataLinQ, has now been developed that allows medical based applications to link departmental-specific data systems to an EMR, HIS or PACS-2. It incorporates several components. Linking of generic systems to communicate to PACS / RIS remains forever problematic. Often end-users have the possibility to print out a report. The DataLinQ Collect (DC) allows the use of this functionality to access the hospital network. DC converts reports to a specified protocol (DICOM, HL7, XML, Structured Reporting etc.) that makes a digital link possible. DataLinQ PACE (DP) enables an efficient and flawless transfer of data from pacemaker programmers to a local or centralised national database, thus making national registration a possible reality. Via the built-in workflows, patient information can be picked up from the HIS, EMR or RIS. DP is also available with database management tools, and data can be entered from any location. DataLinQ ICON (DI) converts each PAL or S-VHS video signal to DICOM compatible files, allowing the integration of non-DICOM modalities (visual light applications) into a PACS. As a result, the integration management process becomes simplified without the costly time constraints. DI features both DICOM worklist and DICOM Store facilities. Recorded video signals can now be converted to DICOM encapsulated Mpeg2 and after conversion can be saved directly to a PACS.
