WIFI-based remote cardiac rhythm monitor

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

TeleSense RCM is a three-in-one device incorporating complete mobile cardiac telemetry (MCT), Holter and cellular event monitoring. It is ideal for cardiology practices and hospitals seeking to easily and more effectively manage symptomatic and asymptomatic cardiac event patients. With TeleSense, clinicians have the convenient flexibility to transition as needed among the three monitoring modes (MCT, Holter and event). The TeleSense features real-time streaming for live patient visibility, auto-detection of arrhythmia events and wireless transmission of three channels of ECG data, allowing clinicians to more accurately correlate patient symptoms to changes in electrical conduction of the heart. TeleSense can transmit up to 30 days of continuous ECG data across multiple cellular networks or utilizing a patient’s home or business WiFi network. Events are received and triaged through ScottCare’s highly-tested and proven receiving platform. TeleSense’s web-accessible reporting software then supports detailed and actionable reporting through daily heart rate trends; event reports; end-of-session reports; interim and summary statistics; and advanced administrative and clinical queries. Optional EHR integration enables reports to be easily viewed and e-signed by the physician prior to automated transmission to any HL7-based electronic health record (EHR) system. TeleSense also addresses the continuous concern of patient compliance. Not only is the device comfortable to wear, it is simple to set up and configure and it can even be configured remotely. Brightly-lit icons allow the patient to easily identify whether the device has sufficient power, whether leads are properly connected, if the device is recording, and the status of the WiFi or cellular connection. Patients can quickly record and immediately transmit self-identified events via a large, easily accessible button on the front of the device.

New software for anesthesia machine

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

With the help of version 2.0 software for the Perseus A500 anesthesia machine, the anesthetist can automatically recruit insufficiently ventilated lung areas during surgery. The software also provides a comprehensive ventilation monitoring function which monitors the compliance of the sensitive lung in relation to the PEEP (positive end-expiratory pressure) during a recruitment manoeuvre. As a result, the affected lung area can be made accessible again for ventilation in a gentle manner. Atelectasis is a common, but undesirable, occurrence during operations. For some patients, recruitment manoeuvres using the manual ventilation bag, for example, are the means of choice. However, several individual operating steps are sometimes required for this. The new software version 2.0 for the Perseus A500, which is now available, can assist the anesthetist when these steps have to be performed. It supports both one-step recruitment and a multi-step manoeuvre, which usually requires a lot of quick successive manual adjustments at the machine. The anesthesia machine now performs these steps automatically after the anesthetist has set the maximum inspiration pressure and maximum PEEP. Ventilation monitoring is also an integral part of the new software. The anesthetist sees, for example, on the screen how successfully the lung has been recruited. In addition, compliance can be assessed in the course of time, which makes it easier to select the optimum PEEP for the respective patient. The software also takes into account the standard operating procedures of a clinic along the treatment path. The anesthesia machine can, for example, be set in such a way that it indicates the first required recruitment time for the patient undergoing surgery. The machine can also remind the anesthetist about other necessary repetitions.

Neonatal incubator/warmer

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The new IncuWarmer Babyleo TN500 offers optimal thermoregulation in open care, closed care and transition. The device provides a stable micro-environment for the premature baby and is also very quiet, typically operating at 40 dB(A). The wide-ranged height adjustment function, jumbo hand ports and an easy-to-open hood allow clinicians and parents to comfortably and efficiently provide care to the premature baby. An integrated audio system and kangaroo mode help actively involve the parents in caring for their child. The Babyleo IncuWarmer enables open and closed care in a single device and provides superior thermoregulation via three synchronized heat sources to ensure the temperature is maintained even when the hood is opened. A constant supply of warmth is especially criticial for the healthy development of the premature baby. In addition, the device has an automatic humidifier so the humidity level is automatically adjusted according to the temperature settings. When humidity levels are high, to avoid condensation build up on the hood of the device, a Clear View feature activates the radiant warmer to ensure the care team always has good visibility. To make care rounds more comfortable for the staff and parents, Babyleo has a wide variable height range that allows sitting or standing, and makes it easy to find the right position to access the baby. Additionally, the jumbo hand ports, generous storage space and a bed coupling system for the Drager Babylog VN500 ventilator facilitate workflows. Babyleo supports kangaroo care, a technique where the infant is held on a parent’s chest. The kangaroo mode ensures the baby is monitored during skin-to-skin care and that Babyleo’s settings remain set for the baby’s return. It is the first device to also include an audio function which allows, for example, mothers to play music or recorded voice files for their babies via an MP3 player plugged into the side of the device. A small loudspeaker delivers the recording inside the device at a low, controlled volume. Furthermore, Babyleo has a Family View screen. The user interface of the screen displays a select number of easy-to-read medical parameter values, in an effort to reduce parent anxiety, and also includes the baby’s name and a personalized icon so each device is individualized. Parents and caregivers can also choose between seven different mood light colours to gently light the floor area and create a nice atmosphere.
