Interventional X-ray system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Findings from a recent landmark clinical trial demonstrate that, during coronary angiographies, equivalent image quality can be achieved using a 50% reduction in radiation dose compared to a traditional imaging system. In other types of clinical applications, such as DSA angiography, studies have shown dose reduction of up to 83%. Traditionally, the use of lower doses of radiation during interventional X-ray procedures resulted in a deterioration of the image quality, which could adversely affect the accuracy of the diagnosis and treatment by the clinician. Now, with Philips’ClarityIQ technology, clinicians can reduce the doses to which a patient is exposed without sacrificing image quality, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of their diagnosis and treatment. The Allura Clarity family from Philips is the first X-ray system with the new ClarityIQ technology. It offers industry-leading image quality, equivalent to the Allura Xper generation, at a fraction of the dose during coronary angiographics.

Image access system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Vue Motion offers the user high resolution images. Regardless of location, authorised users such as the referring physician can access the entire imaging patient portfolio anytime, anywhere. Pure-web and platform-independent technologies provide access from multiple operating systems and from virtually any browser-enabled device. The system supports the display of clinical data from single or multiple sources, providing the referring physician a single point of access to the entire patient file, including a full report history and relevant prior exams and supporting data.
Along with simple to use viewing tools such as zoom, pan, window, line measurements and cine, collaboration with other users is not compromised. The system also supports sticky notes communication, including indication of critical results. With a single click, a physician can send a link of the exam inside an email message to professional colleagues for second opinions.
Thanks to its intuitive design, users require little or no training. Zero footprint means no application software to install or maintain. The viewing experience is enhanced with high-speed performance when pure web based technology is supported by a back-end rendering and streaming mechanism.Available as an independent viewer, the system can also be integrated within an EMR or EHR portal, either as an embedded application or activated in a separate window through URL activation. Multiple logins are eliminated, saving end users time to access relevant patient information. The system also includes Web service access available for direct access to the data, and enables access to data originating from a variety of clinical systems.

Breathing simulator

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Based on a computerised mathematical lung model, 1101 Breathing Simulator models a spontaneously breathing patient. Airway resistance, lung compliance, breath rate and patient effort are adjustable parameters that simulate a wide range of patient conditions. The simulator includes a large LCD display with real-time graphics and data acquisition capability. The computer uses the mathematical lung model to control the bellows, and the lung model uses the lung parameters and patient effort signal set by the user along with measurements of the pressure and flow to determine the motion of the bellows. The patient effort can be controlled by menu settings, a user-defined waveform or from an external analogue input for simulation of random breathing patterns. The target volume parameter can be used to end patient effort once the target volume is reached. In addition to simulating breathing, the simulator can also be used to collect data during a test and save them for record keeping and analysis. Data can be collected from the calibrated internal instruments, calculated values and from user supplied external analogue signals. The display contains four real-time graphs of user selected signals.

Venous test system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The VenoScreen is a small USB driven device that can be used with a computer or notebook. In cases of venous insufficiency, an early diagnosis is important to reduce the development of disease. This can be made by a simple screening test based on light-reflection-rheography (LRR). This screening is made possible with the device, and the easy to operate PC software. Testing requires small infrared sensors to be placed on both legs, which recognise the change of the venous blood volume after an exercise test. The sensors measure the time taken for the veins to refill. The shorter the refilling time, the worse the function of the venous valves. The results are evaluated automatically and a measuring protocol can then be printed.

Intensive care ventilation during HBO

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Patients with certain conditions may be in need of ICU quality ventilation during their time in the hyperbaric chamber. Indications may be e.g. carbon monoxide poisoning, severe necrotizing soft tissue infections or decompression sickness with gas embolisms. The SERVO-i HBO works at normobaric and hyperbaric pressures up to 3100 hPa (absolute pressure), corresponding to a diving depth of 20 meters. It automatically adjusts its delivered and monitored volumes, as well as other parameters, even during compression and decompression. All patient categories can be treated, from neonatal to adult patients. Taking away the limitations of ventilators previously used in HBO will widen the possibilities for hyperbaric medicine. SERVO-i HBO has been adapted to handle the variations in pressure and the special requirements for use in hyperbaric chambers. Conditions of the hyperbaric chamber that need to be adhered to when using SERVO-i HBO include power supply of 12V DC, 10A, connection of scavenging system for expired gases and connection of potential equalization conductor.
