Handheld medical pocket pad
The Pocket Pad is a handheld mobile computing platform designed especially for use in mobile healthcare and medical equipment applications such as EMR, BCMA/CLMA, CPOE, PACS and Mobile Workstation on Cart. It is a perfect extension of an existing hospital information system (HIS), and is ideal as a PDA as well. The Pocket Pad can be used as a handheld device, but can also be mounted to medical equipment and nursing carts. Durable and flexible, with an IP54-rating, it runs the latest Intel Ato Bay Trail-T processor and is certified for Microsoft Windows 8.1. The lightweight (400g) unit has an embedded 1D/2D barcode scanner, front and rear cameras, and a host of connectivity options. The device is easy to clean with anti-bacterial agents. It has been drop tested at 90 cm, ensuring reliability and continuous operation. The battery is quickly charged and provides 4-6 hours of uninterrupted use. Pocket Pad, small enough to fit in the hand, runs the latest Intel Atom Bay Trail-T processor and has a HD 7′ multi-touch, P-cap touchscreen. The Pocket Pad is equipped with a 1D/2D barcode scanner allowing easy identification, tracking and tracing of patients and medications throughout hospital stay. This safeguards against mistakes in medication dispensing and identification. The device incorporates a two megapixel front camera, and an 8 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and flash, ideal for video conferencing. It has GPS for location-based applications, NFC, a microSD card slot, and HDMI and USB3.0 for practical use. The Pocket Pad is able to easily exchange data with a variety of HIS platforms in medical care facilities. Its ergonomic design includes a secure handstrap and stylus.
