Enhanced imaging capabilities

The Versana Premier is powered by VisionBoost Architecture and features high-quality probes, including XDclear technology. This combination, along with a new imaging engine and first-class display technology, is intended to deliver superior image quality with increased speed compared to its predecessor.

Automated features for improved workflow

The system includes several automated tools aimed at enhancing productivity:

  • Whizz: Continuously optimises imaging in real time
  • Whizz Color Flow: Adjusts colour display during scanning
  • Whizz RenderLive and V-Live 2.0: Capture 3D/4D imaging for OBGYN applications
  • Whizz Label: AI-powered automatic labelling of right kidney, gallbladder and liver
  • Whizz Follicle: Assists with volume calculations and measurements

According to GE HealthCare, these Whizz clinical features can potentially accelerate workflow by up to 38%.

Clinical applications and availability

The Versana Premier is designed to support various clinical specialties, including general practice, obstetrics and gynaecology, musculoskeletal imaging, and cardiology. Dr Martin Altersberger, Director of Echo Laboratory at State Hospital Steyr, Austria, commented on the system’s user-friendliness and image quality, stating, “Versana Premier is remarkably user-friendly and image quality in B-Mode is easy to optimise, making it possible to create amazing images.”

The system has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is currently commercially available in key countries globally.

As ultrasound technology continues to play an increasingly important role in primary care settings, systems like the Versana Premier aim to support frontline clinicians in disease identification and diagnosis. The integration of AI and automated tools in such systems may contribute to more efficient and accurate diagnostic processes across various healthcare scenarios.
