GE HealthCare introduces new cardiac CT system with one-beat imaging capabilities
GE HealthCare has introduced its Revolution™ Vibe CT system featuring Unlimited One-Beat Cardiac imaging technology at the American College of Cardiology 2025 meeting. The new system aims to deliver consistent, high-quality cardiac images even in challenging cases including atrial fibrillation and heavily calcified coronaries.
Addressing rising cardiovascular disease burden
With cardiovascular disease (CVD) being the leading cause of death and healthcare costs worldwide, research projects it could cause over 23 million deaths by 2030. The average number of cardiac computed tomography (CT) procedures performed per site is expected to increase 175 percent, highlighting its value as a first-line imaging tool.
The Revolution Vibe integrates several AI-powered solutions including ECG-less Cardiac, TrueFidelity DL, SnapShot Freeze 2, and Effortless Workflow to enable faster, more accurate diagnoses whilst providing a more comfortable patient experience and improved workflow efficiency.
“Expanding access to CCTA is crucial for managing the rising prevalence of CVD, ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses for a larger patient population,” shares Jean-Luc Procaccini, President and CEO, Molecular Imaging and Computed Tomography, GE HealthCare. “Our introduction of Revolution Vibe underscores our commitment to this mission. The system is designed to encourage the broader adoption of and access to cardiac imaging, combining advanced technology with AI-powered solutions to deliver fast, accurate diagnoses and a more comfortable patient experience.”
Clinical experience demonstrates improved capabilities
According to Dr. Christopher Ahlers, Radiologist and Managing Partner at Radiomed, “Revolution Vibe has significantly enhanced our cardiac imaging capabilities, doubling our CCTA capacity while reducing scan times and improving image quality. The advanced technology streamlines workflows, reduces reliance on invasive diagnostics, and ensures high-quality care for all patients, including those with challenging conditions.”
Key technological advantages
The Revolution Vibe offers full-heart images at low doses, particularly benefiting patients with complex conditions such as atrial fibrillation and breath-holding difficulties. The system’s ECG-less Cardiac capability improves patient access by simplifying exam preparation without requiring an ECG connection, making it particularly valuable when speed is essential or when ECG signals are unavailable.
The AI-powered Effortless Cardiac Workflow feature optimises the system for cardiac scans by automatically selecting protocols and positioning patients. In clinical evaluation, this workflow approach helped reduce exam time by 50 percent, freeing up four minutes of radiologists’ time per study. It also reduced patient preparation time by up to five minutes per scan, primarily through reduced positioning time, minimised beta blocker usage, and elimination of ECG connection requirements.
Operational efficiency and service expansion
Beyond clinical advantages, the Revolution Vibe is designed to help healthcare facilities expand their service lines and manage lifecycle costs effectively. The system’s versatility enables facilities to handle increased cardiac exam volumes alongside general imaging needs.
The technology features energy-efficient design, extensive training options, fleet management capabilities, and Smart Subscription service to ensure facilities remain updated with the latest technology advancements.
Revolution Vibe is CE marked and 510(k) pending with the U.S. FDA. It is not currently available for sale in the United States or all regions.
