The platform addresses critical healthcare challenges including workflow efficiency, cross-departmental communication, and manual workload reduction through automated processing and structured reporting capabilities.

Enhanced imaging capabilities across clinical specialties

MIM Encore delivers dedicated post-processing tools specifically optimised for GE HealthCare systems, providing high-quality imaging with minimal manual intervention. The platform supports PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and multi-modality fusion imaging within a single interface, streamlining nuclear medicine and cardiology workflows.

“In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, operational efficiency and seamless collaboration are not just goals – they’re the cornerstone to success,” said Jean-Luc Procaccini, President & CEO, Molecular Imaging & Computed Tomography, GE HealthCare. “We are committed to delivering technology that unifies data across systems and organisations, breaking down workflow barriers to help drive better clinical outcomes and elevate the standard of patient care.”

Oncology applications

The oncology module simplifies SPECT image processing through advanced reconstruction capabilities and configurable enhancements. Features include resolution recovery, attenuation and scatter correction, advanced filtering, and motion correction technologies. Clinicians can access dynamic and static scan viewing, simplified image sharing, and advanced quantitation tools designed to reduce manual processing requirements.

Cardiology enhancements

For cardiac imaging applications, MIM Encore incorporates advanced PET and SPECT reconstruction tools enabling rapid, high-quality image processing and quantitative analysis. The platform includes motion correction algorithms, automated quality assessment protocols, and intuitive display interfaces optimised for cardiac care delivery.

The system supports key radiotracers and incorporates advanced algorithms including Evolution for Cardiac, developed through collaboration with Johns Hopkins and University of North Carolina, designed to deliver diagnostic-quality images at reduced acquisition times or radiation doses.

Neurology workflow integration

The neurology module offers specialised reconstruction workflows featuring 3D rendering capabilities and advanced correction algorithms. This functionality provides consistent, high-quality neuroimaging with user-friendly diagnostic tools designed to support treatment planning and evaluation processes.

Streamlined workflow integration

GE HealthCare’s Effortless Workflow technology integrates seamlessly with MIM Encore, enabling clinicians to manage increasing caseloads through intuitive interfaces and customisable displays. The automation features are designed to bridge experience gaps and reduce clinician burnout through reduced manual processing requirements.

“Customers are telling us that this pairing is exactly what users have been looking for,” said Andrew Nelson, CEO, MIM Software, a GE HealthCare Company. “The combined solution enables streamlined, accurate reading of images, supports quantitative analysis out of the box, and helps eliminate manual entries.”

Acquisition and future development

GE HealthCare acquired MIM Software in 2024, combining expertise in multi-modality imaging, quantitation, workflow automation, and molecular imaging technologies. The acquisition supports the development of vertically integrated products based on user feedback and clinical requirements.

The platform maintains vendor-neutral compatibility whilst providing enhanced functionality for GE HealthCare scanner systems, designed to scale with advancing molecular imaging requirements.
