Portable digital X-ray system

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The FDR Go, a new DR portable digital X-ray system, features the ability to use any FDR D-EVO detector and is designed for image preview in as little as two seconds. Images can be sent wirelessly to the hospital network. The system allows technicians to simply drop the box into the cassette drawer, and position the notebook on top to begin capturing DR images. The lightweight, compact FDR Go Flex consists of a wireless FDR D-EVO flat panel detector, a full featured laptop workstation and supporting mini components box. This system features Smart Switch, a new X-ray detection feature. It simplifies use in any room by eliminating the need to connect the detector’s processing system to the generator equipment’s exposure circuit. Both systems use the advanced detector technology Irradiation Side Sampling (ISS), which improves detective quantum efficiency (DQE) by reducing the distance for light signals to reach the sensor. This unique innovation achieves significant dose efficiency improvements and reduces scatter and blur of X-rays captured, resulting in sharper images with greater detail.

WiFi ultra-light digital detector

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

The Pixium Portable 2430 EZ is a new WiFi ultra-light flat-panel detector, which offers unlimited flexibility thanks to its multishare, auto-detection and image storage capacity. While providing outstanding image and diagnosis quality with very low dose, based on cesium iodide X-ray detection technology, the new Pixium 2430 EZ is designed to facilitate examination conditions. The versatility and autonomy of this portable and robust detector make it ideal for pediatric imaging. For extremity X-rays, it is the optimal complement to the larger-format 3543 EZ launched last year. The Pixium Portable 2430 EZ can equip a new radiography room or a mobile cart and can also be a good solution for retrofit. It can be multi-shared in various configurations: several detectors in one room, or one detector shared by several rooms. Offering total freedom due to automatic attachment by infrared and an autodetection feature, it complements a range of detectors that cover most radiological applications and which serve as benchmarks for the majority of equipment manufacturers throughout the world.

Solution for measuring cardiovascular system during exercise

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Western countries, responsible for 35% of all deaths of people over the age of 65, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). In patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), myocardial perfusion is balanced during rest, but shows impairments during exercise resulting in thoracic pain. This situation reflects the coronary artery stenoses permitting sufficient perfusion during rest, but limiting the increased blood flow demand during exercise. The evaluation of these conditions is currently performed by stress MRI of the myocardium. Due to a lack of suitable devices, drugs like Dobutamine and Adenosine are often used to stress the cardiovascular system. However, the administration of these drugs for stress CMR is likely to lead to complications and does not reflect the physiological reality of daily situations. The Ergospect Diagnostic Pedal Cardio enables a step exercise inside the MR bore which is comparable to physical activities. The device is compatible with all MRI scanners ranging from 1.5

Instrument protection system for sterilisation

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Made of Kimgard sterilisation wrap to form a series of pockets for the protection and organisation of surgical instruments during the sterilisation process, DuraHolder IPS allows sterilisation of the contents to occur in a steam autoclave utilising a sterilisation and drying cycle that has been validated by the sterile process department in hospitals. After cleaning, disinfecting and drying, instruments can be placed in the system. An appropriate process indicator can be placed inside the innermost pocket. The top flap is folded over and the system can be loosely rolled up, folded over or left flat. The system should then be placed into a protective wrap such as Kimgard or placed into a sterilisation container system to provide a sterile barrier. The system has been verified though laboratory testing and is suitable for use in sterilisation process methods and cycles.

Field upgradable patient monitor

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Designed for a fast paced work environment, the Infinium Omni III patient monitor offers an extremely simple and adaptable user interface.   Patient information along with vital sign settings can be quickly modified to meet the needs of a patient’s changing condition.   The Omni III offers a standard high resolution 15-inch touch screen to optimize the speed of patient care.  The user can therefore make quick screen adjustments, set default settings, alarm limits, and manage up to 72 hours of detailed patient data.  From the general floor to high acuity surgeries, the Infinium Omni series patient monitors are designed to fit-in and move amongst many patient care areas.  The Omni III offers standard measurements of: Non-Invasive Blood Pressure, ECG with arrhythmia detection, motion tolerant SpO2, Temperature, and Respiration Rate.  End-tidal Co2, Anesthetic Agent measurement, 12 lead ECG, Cardiac Output and Invasive Blood Pressure can be added on-site by simply attaching plug-in modules.    This field upgradability can allow the user to customize the monitor’s acuity level while the patient’s condition changes. If desired, the user can move from a basic vital signs monitor, to a continuous bedside monitor, to an operating room monitor while keeping the patient on a single monitor at all times.   The   Omni III offers several connective solutions to network multiple monitors and/or manage patient data on an electronic medical records platform or a HL7 based hospital information system.   The Omni III patient monitor offers Ethernet and RS-232 connections with an open source communication protocol.  Infinium offers two levels of networking and connectivity. The Omni III is HL7 compliant.  The HL7 network protocol will allow for all patient information and vital sign trends to be transferred and stored on a hospital information system.  For non-HL7 medical facilities, there is the Infinium Omniview  central station which allows the real time remote monitoring and networking of up to 64 Omni patient monitors.  The  Omniview archives full disclosure of all patient vital sign trends.  The patient data from the Omniview  can be very simply saved, stored, printed, and, transferred.

H2 check for diagnosis of lactose intolerance

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

Lactose is a sugar found in milk. Unless it gets changed into glucose it cannot be absorbed into the body. This change happens when the lactose passes through the stomach into the small intestine and comes into contact with the lactase enzyme. If there is not enough lactase present the lactose cannot be broken down, this in turn leads to lactose intolerance. As a result, the hydrogen that is produced by bacteria is absorbed through the wall of the small or large intestine. The hydrogen then travels to the lungs where it is released and exhaled in the breath where it can be measured by the H2 Check. The H2 Check is a breath test device for the simple diagnosis of lactose intolerance. The H2 Check is also capable of diagnosing a range of gastroenterology disorders and food intolerances based on collecting H2 results in PPM.

Mammography system lowers radiation dose up to 30 percent

, 26 August 2020/in Product News /by 3wmedia

In digital X-ray breast imaging, radiation passes through the examined breast to a detector. Primary radiation supplies the information needed to produce the X-ray image, while scattered radiation is absorbed by special grids positioned between the breast and the detector. Unfortunately, these scatter grids also absorb part of the all-important primary radiation, forcing physicians to use a higher dose to obtain images of desired quality. Since mammography means regular screening of healthy women, minimizing dose is extremely important. Siemens’new reconstruction algorithm for the Mammomat Inspiration system
