Miniaturization of medical devices – felt, but not always observed
Although we encounter it every time we visit a hospital, most of us do not consider the miniaturization of medical devices to be as dramatic as, say, a hand-held tablet or an iPhone. In reality, however, the technologies that fuelled the shrinking of computers have achieved exactly the same results with a vast array of medical equipment, and in many cases driven the uptake of the latter.
