In cases of venous insufficiency, an early diagnosis is important to reduce the development of disease. This can be made by a simple screening test based on light-reflection-rheography (LRR). This screening is made possible with the device, and the easy to operate PC software. Testing requires small infrared sensors to be placed on both legs, which recognise the change of the venous blood volume after an exercise test. The sensors measure the time taken for the veins to refill. The shorter the refilling time, the worse the function of the venous valves.
