At ECR 2023, Agfa and Lunit demonstrate INSIGHT CXR AI software integrated in the MUSICA® Workstation to speed up critical findings notification protocols.
Chest pathologies detection is the first in a new range of functionalities embedded in the MUSICA® Workstation to assist clinicians and radiology department staff in detecting critical pathologies within seconds after the X-ray exam.
- Lunit INSIGHT CXR, a deep learning-based AI solution, assists radiologists and clinicians in the interpretation of chest X-rays with more than 97% accuracy[1].
- The software will be embedded in Agfa’s MUSICA® Workstation, which provides radiographers an intuitive interface and recognized among radiologist community as excellent image quality.
- The new functionality will be demonstrated at Agfa’s ECR booth #207, on both the DR 600 and the DR 100s solutions.
Agfa and Lunit have collaborated to deliver clinicians a new critical findings notification workflow, by integrating the Lunit INSIGHT CXR software in the MUSICA® Workstation. Radiographers will automatically be notified in case of life-threatening pathologies detected in chest X-rays such as pneumothorax, pleural effusion, atelectasis. This will help hospitals ensure patient safety with timely communication to clinicians in the event of urgent and unexpected findings, especially in outpatient settings where patients return home after their X-ray exams. The solution will be demonstrated to the public for the first time at Agfa’s booth #207 at ECR 2023.
Partnering to transform digital radiology
“With our collaboration with Lunit, we continue to deliver on our vision to transform digital radiography. Lunit has a strong clinical validation track record and is registered in Europe and also more than 19 countries outside Europe, making it an excellent partner for developing solutions that bring our customers intelligent and definitive answers to their daily needs. At our booth, we will demonstrate the new functionalities on our fully automatic DR 600 and motorized mobile DR 100s, enabling visitors to see just how smooth the critical findings notification workflow is,” says Paul Danini, Global Software Product Manager of Agfa.
“We are thrilled to team with Agfa once again to create clinical value through AI and ensure a healthier life for patients. We believe that the integration of Lunit’s AI in Agfa’s advanced medical imaging workstation will help facilitate more effective clinical workflows in various hospital situations,” said Brandon Suh, CEO of Lunit.
MUSICA workstation: easy, intuitive image acquisition
The ‘nerve center’ of Agfa’s imaging environment, the MUSICA Workstation offers a single, intuitive interface for smooth, efficient digital imaging: for general radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography and full leg/full spine (FLFS).
